Prepare for a New HVAC Install
Before Installation Day: The Must-Do Checklist
Thorough preparation ensures our installation team can work efficiently and safely, minimizing the time your home is without heat.
Clear the Work Area: Technicians need clear access to the indoor unit (furnace closet, attic, or basement) and the outdoor unit. Please remove any furniture, boxes, storage items, or debris from these areas and create a clear path for moving equipment.
Secure Pets and Children: Installation involves tools, equipment, and technicians moving in and out of your home. For their safety and the efficiency of the crew, please keep all pets secured in a separate room and ensure children are kept away from the work zone.
Be Available: While you don't need to supervise constantly, please be reachable throughout the day. Your installer may have questions about the thermostat location, zoning preferences, or unexpected ductwork issues.
Review Installation Plans: Before work begins, review the final placement of your new unit and the scope of work with your lead technician to ensure everyone is on the same page.
What to Expect During the New HVAC Installation Process
The HVAC installation process typically involves several key stages, and while the exact time varies (a simple replacement might take 4-8 hours), you can expect the following:
System Removal: We safely disconnect and remove your old heating system and legally dispose of all components, including any refrigerant.
Ductwork Inspection/Modification: If necessary, we inspect your existing ductwork for leaks or damage and make any needed repairs or modifications to ensure your new, more efficient system performs optimally.
New Unit Placement & Connection: Your new indoor and outdoor units will be positioned correctly. We'll then connect all necessary gas, electrical, and refrigerant lines according to strict safety codes.
Thermostat Setup & Testing: Your new thermostat is installed and calibrated to ensure perfect temperature control. We perform rigorous testing to check airflow, temperature regulation, and overall system function before we finalize the job.
After Your New System is Installed
Once the installation is complete, your technician will walk you through your new system's operation, including how to use the thermostat and simple routine maintenance tips. They will also explain your warranty and guide you on signing up for a regular maintenance plan to protect your investment.
